American life losing value? Says who?!

It was rather shocking to me to click on the Firefox icon on the computer, only to be confronted with a story about American life losing value ... monetary value that is. Since when do we calculate the dignity of human life based on gas prices, output or other factors? John Paul II so beautifully said that each and every human person has inestimable value, regardless of who they are or what they do. Fortunately, this means that an American life being $1 million less now than five years ago should have no effect on our true dignity and value in God's eyes.
