Weekly Quote

"Confidently open your most intimate aspirations to the love of Christ who waits for you in the Eucharist. You will receive the answer to all your worries and you will see with joy that the consistency of your life which he asks of you is the door to fulfill the noblest dreams of your youth."

- Pope John Paul II

Question Box Friday on a Monday

Why did God give us sexual urges at such a young age?

This was a great question we got from a student. Thom gave a pretty insightful answer. He said that he thought God gave us sexual urges at a young age as a way for us to train ourselves in the self-mastery we all need in order to direct our desires towards what is good. For example, by practicing self-control over our sexual desires before marriage, we will be better equipped and empowered to practice that same self-control within marriage and therefore remain faith to our spouse.
