Weekly Quote

"Chastity is a difficult, long-term matter; one must wait patiently for it to bear fruit, for the happiness of loving kindness which it must bring. But at the same time, chastity is the sure way to happiness"

Pope John Paul II

St. Augustine

St. Augustine experienced the life of a wild party in his younger days. He rejected the Church, ran away from his mother, and even had a child out of wedlock. He enjoyed partying and he didn’t want to give up this lifestyle. His mother continued to pray for him and follow after him until Augustine eventually realized that the wild side didn’t truly make him happy. He came back to the Church and found that following God’s way did indeed bring the peace and joy he had been missing in his life. His writings about the Catholic Faith and the example of his life led him to be considered one of the “Doctors of the Church”, which is a great honor in our Church.
